This past holiday season Angel MedFlight wanted to give someone the chance to bring a loved one home for the holidays. Participants wrote 500-word essays on why they or their nominee should be chosen for a homecoming flight. Five finalists were chosen, then it was up to the public to vote for their favorite "Holiday Homecoming" story.
We're pleased to release the official 2013 "Holiday Homecoming" video of our first winner of the "Holiday Homecoming" online campaign, Lori McFate.
Lori nominated Michael Henkel of Germany, who saved her life by donating bone marrow to her in 2006. The two consider each other "family," but have never been able to meet. Lori's hope was that Angel MedFlight would unite the two in her hometown of Bettendorf, Iowa. After a vigorous online vote, the public helped Lori's dream come true.
